I am Rushi Balapure, an Associate Product Engineer based in Pune. Curiosity is the thread that connects most of what I do: I enjoy understanding how systems work, asking why they fail, and turning what I learn into something practical.

How I work

I am most engaged when a problem has more than one layer. That might mean designing a sensitive-data detection pipeline, studying how a security system behaves at scale, experimenting with machine learning, or turning a research idea into working software.

I like moving between research and implementation. Reading helps me understand the shape of a problem; building, testing, and talking to people reveal what the problem actually needs.

What keeps me curious

• Building security products that solve concrete problems rather than only demonstrating ideas.
• Applying machine learning and LLMs where they add real value, with equal attention to their limitations and risks.
• Creating open-source tools that make another developer’s work a little easier.
• Exploring research in cryptography, computer vision, and secure collaborative systems.
• Sharing ideas through talks and hands-on sessions, then learning from the questions people ask.

Learning in public

For me, learning is rarely a solitary activity. I enjoy interacting with people who bring different perspectives, explaining what I have understood, and being comfortable enough to change my mind when a better idea appears.

That is why my work spans products, open source, research, and community sessions. Each one is a different way to investigate an idea and make the result useful to someone else.

The kind of work I value

I enjoy collaborating with people who are thoughtful, direct, and willing to experiment. The best projects usually begin with a useful question, grow through honest discussion, and end with something clearer than where they started.
